  • Previous mentioned parking signs are now up at the lot
  • A group text message has been started for members to keep abreast of community issues
  • Discussed possibly having a block party in the fall to help raise revenue
  • The lot located at South & North Shore should be maintained by the SSIA but has become overgrown.  Voted to have a landscaping company take care of the overgrowth, after which the association will be responsible for the maintenance.  Billy-Jean stated they will notify Staci that this is going to happen.
  • The suggestion was made to have yearly memberships on an ‘auto renewal’ basis.  This will be looked into further.
  • Discussed raising the rental rates. Agreed this will be revisited at the first meeting of 2025.  At that meeting, we will also discuss a membership drive to help increase the number of members.
  • Due to parking issues and the unmanageability of the situation, we voted “no” for outside communities using our boat ramp.
  • On two separate occasions the police had to be notified of the residents at the Sober Living House being at the beach. Both times they responded and asked them to leave. The Sober Living House has since been contacted via a letter.
  • Voted “yes” to adding a sign to the one that already exists at the beach with two more bullet points –
  1. NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
  2. ANY VISITORS OR TEMPORARY RESIDENTS MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A SILVER SANDS PROPERTY OWNER

The suggestion was also made that there needs to be a second sign in Spanish.

  • A concern was raised about a possible male resident of the community squirting females from his vehicle with a “squirt gun” and telling the ladies that it is “only water and in fun”.
  • A suggestion was made to offer advertising in the community newsletter.
  • The upcoming fishing tournament was discussed. It will be promoted on social media as well as the community newsletter.
