  • The lot across from the boat ramp has been cleared and the sign has been
added. The sign on the chain was also fixed.
  • The Message Board for the Club House is in and should be mounted in the next
few days. This board will be used to post upcoming events, the Community
Newsletter, and a copy of the SSIA Meeting Minutes.
  • It was suggested to use the Community Newsletter to inform everyone of any
“community clean-up” days for the various properties.
  • Treasury Report: Currently we have $14,332.00. We deposited $653.18 and
debited $105.68. We made almost $4k the past month, but we have an upcoming
expense of $2K. We currently have 51 members and have sold 33 keys.
  • Some brush has been dumped on the South Shore lot and we need volunteers to
    help remove it.
  • South Shore Lot. Some members expressed that they are not happy with the
new signage. It was mentioned that this was discussed and voted on in previous
    meetings.
  • By-laws. A concern was raised about transparency and that the community by-
laws weren’t being followed. There was the suggestion that if said laws were
antiquated, they should be revisited and revised.
  • The group text of SSIA members is not intended for voting purposes but to follow
up on previous SSIA meeting business.
  • A suggestion was made again for allowing absentee and electronic voting, as
    well as virtual meeting attendance.
  • Many members suggested that the monthly meeting follow a format, including a
treasury report and a structured order for members to speak without interruption
    and within a time limit.
  • The goal is to eventually have the monthly minutes posted on the SSIA
Facebook page, posted on the new Message Board, and to start a chain of e-
mails of those members who wish to be sent a copy. The next community
newsletter will inform anyone that wishes to receive a copy via e-mail to send
their request to the SilverSands21060@gmail.com address and that listing will be
    sent to Rob Jackson.
  • It was suggested that we should ask the community if a different day of the week
may be better for community meetings and possibly attract more participants.
  • At the August meeting we will decide a date for the Fall Festival and bring ideas.
One member offered 20 paint canvases, and another has stencils for
    facepainting.
  • It was suggested that community events be advertised via flyers delivered to
each house, on the Community Message Board, and the Community Newsletter.
Safety concerns were raised about placing community events on social media,
which could reach a wider audience than intended.
  • It was suggested that a community calendar be created where everyone could
see when the lots or club house are being rented.
  • The low membership concern was raised again and everyone agrees that next
year we need to address membership drives.
