About Silver Sands

Our neighborhood traces its origins as a “peaceful waterfront community” back to 1949 when the Silver Sands subdivision was first created.

Silver Sands is a voluntary homeowners association situated in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, near the intersection of Solley Road and North Shore Drive, and comprises approximately 250 single-family homes enjoying a peaceful suburban-waterfront lifestyle along Stoney Creek.

The SSIA’s mission is to maintain and enhance three community-owned properties, preserve waterfront access, fund common-area upkeep, and strengthen neighborly bonds through volunteer committees and seasonal events.

Governance is vested in an elected Board of Directors that meets monthly; membership is optional, and annual dues cover property insurance, landscaping, facility maintenance, and community programming.

Amenities include a private sandy beach and boat ramp on Stoney Creek, the clubhouse and playground at 7724 Norfolk Road (available for member rentals and SSIA gatherings), and a community parking lot on South Shore Drive.

SSIA organizes signature events—Kid’s fishing tournaments, fall clean-up days, holiday gatherings, and more—to foster neighborhood pride and engagement.
